Did you know that your Harris Teeter VIC card can earn money for Massey Hill Classical High School? The Together in Education program has donated over twenty million dollars to schools since its inception in 1998, and in the last quarter of 2014 alone awarded nearly $300,000 to area schools.  Harris Teeter will contribute a percentage of all HT brand purchases to the Massey Hill TIE account when your VIC card is linked to our school. There are two easy ways to link your card – either ask your cashier to link your card to Massey Hill Classical High School TIE code #3331 for you, or if registering online, go to Harris Teeter’s Together in Education page, log in to your account, and link your card. We will receive payments quarterly for amounts over $250; any lesser amounts will be rolled over into the next cycle. Thank you for your support!

Wellness Tip: Childhood Obesity Awareness

Image of several children running through grass with caption of Childhood Obesity Awareness MonthOne in three children in the United States is overweight or obese. Childhood obesity puts kids at risk for health problems that were once seen only in adults, like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

The good news is that childhood obesity can be prevented. CCS encourages your family to make healthy changes together.

  • Get active outside: Walk around the neighborhood, go on a bike ride, or play basketball at the park.
  • Limit screen time: Keep screen time (time spent on the computer, watching TV, or playing video games) to 2 hours or less a day.
  • Make healthy meals: Buy and serve more vegetables, fruits, and whole-grain foods.

Taking small steps as a family can help your child stay at a healthy weight.
