There are some very important things you need to consider as you decide on your courses.

  • As stated in the Cumberland County Curriculum Guide, for those entering ninth grade in 2013-2014 and beyond, the following requirements must be met for graduation:
    • Course and credit requirements, End-of-Course Tests, and any local requirements. At Massey Hill Classical, those requirements include:
      • English I, II, III, IV
      • Math I, II, III and either Advanced Functions and Modeling, Pre-Calculus Honors, or SREB
      • Earth and Environmental Science, Biology, either Physical Science or Chemistry and one additional science course
      • World History, American History I and 2 or AP US History, Civics and Economics, and 1 more social studies for MHCHS. You must have 4.
      • Three units of a foreign language at Massey Hill Classical with a minimum of two credits of the same foreign language
      • One credit of health and physical education
      • Two credits in fine arts
      • 6 elective credits (minimum)
  • Total credits required for graduation will be four less than the maximum number of credits the student could have earned over four regular high school years.
  • Once you have selected your courses, your high school course history will be audited again to ensure that you are on track to have what is needed to meet graduation requirements. Any adjustments that you make changing your schedule may jeopardize your graduation.
  • **SENIORS: ONCE YOU HAVE SELECTED YOUR COURSES AND YOU INTEND TO LEAVE CAMPUS EARLY, THE PARENT SIGNATURE BELOW INDICATES THAT THE PARENT IS AWARE OF THE STUDENT LEAVING AND HAS APPROVED AN ABBREVIATED SCHEDULE.
