Battle of the Books | To help students read out of their comfort zone and develop an appreciation for all types of literature, as well as a love of reading. | Membership is open to all MHCHS students willing to read the books, discuss them with peers, and compete in a quiz bowl-style competition. | |
E-Sports Club | To make Esports available as a legitimate varsity-level sport, offering healthy competition, academic success, and future career opportunities. | All students who enjoy playing video games are welcome. Must maintain an 80% average in all classes to participate in tournaments. Kindness and helpfulness are expected. | |
Key Club | To serve the school and community and develop student leadership skills. | Open to all MHCHS students. Must attend 50% of meetings per month and complete two service projects per semester to maintain membership. Those who fail to meet requirements are removed for the following semester. Membership dues are established each year. | |
Military Appreciation Club (MAC) | To display appreciation for active duty soldiers and veterans. Members volunteer with military-affiliated organizations and hold fundraisers to donate proceeds. | Membership is open to all MHCHS students. | |
National Honor Society | To promote academic excellence, service, leadership, and character among students. | Students must have a minimum weighted GPA of 3.5 and an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or a numerical average of 90 on the previous semester’s rank list, along with a minimum number of character, leadership, and service points. Membership dues are $20.00 per school year. | |
Science Club (Science Olympiad, Science Quiz Bowl) | To foster a passion for learning science with a focus on teamwork and excellence through preparation for academic competitions. | Members must attend practices regularly and understand the importance of teamwork. A membership fee is required, and additional expenses may arise as the team progresses in competitions. | |
Speech and Debate | To develop public speaking skills through regular competition events. | Students enrolled in the Forensics/Debate class are eligible. Others may audition for the team. Must be willing to attend practices and weekend competitions. | |
Student Government Association | To represent the student body, encourage cooperation, and provide a means for student opinions and ideas to be expressed to the faculty and administration. | To run for office, students must have a minimum unweighted 3.0 GPA and obtain teacher and student recommendations. | |
Thespian Club | To serve students interested in theatre, exploring theatre games, plays, musicals, technical theatre, and more while building positive relationships with fellow artists. | Membership is open to all students of MHCHS interested in learning more about on- and off-stage elements of theatre arts. |
